Changing Lives, One Wheelchair at a Time
Over 150 million children, teens, and adults worldwide are in need of a wheelchair but cannot afford one. For every case of Lookout Ridge wine sold Lookout Ridge will donate a wheelchair to a needy individual. The Holmes family, owners of Lookout Ridge Winery, has a deep, heartfelt connection to those deprived of independence and mobility by war, disease, accident, natural disaster or old age.
In December 2009 Gordon Holmes and one of Lookout Ridge's winemakers, Marco DiGiulio, spent a week in Belize to deliver 300 wheelchairs. This incredible distribution was made possible through the fundraising efforts of CA at a private event held inside our cave at the winery on the top of the Mayacamas, in-between Napa and Sonoma. We are working with other compassionate individuals and companies who understand our mission of providing mobility to the over 150 million men, woman and children who can't afford to purchase a wheelchair.
